CPN-UML Vice President Bishnu Poudel has said that there should be unity in diversity in the UML. He said that unity in uniformity is wrong in a two-day workshop that began in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Poudel, who has been demanding the reorganization of the party and leadership, said that there should be unity among diverse ideas. ‘There should be unity in diversity in the party. Not unity in uniformity. We should move forward guided by this,’ he said, ‘It is also philosophically wrong to seek unity in uniformity. The plurality of nature should be in our party. We can reach a common conclusion by discussing the different views of individuals. We have been trying to achieve unity in diversity.’
He said that superiority should be achieved through competition. ‘It should be advanced as a political party, not a political party. It should be a party approved by the people. We are trying to make a party that achieves superiority in competition.’
