Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma has urged Prime Minister Balendra Shah to think dozens of times before speaking. He said that the Prime Minister needs to be restrained and mature when it comes to sensitive diplomatic issues.

‘He (Walendra Shah) is the Prime Minister of the country, he should think a dozen times before speaking, restraint and maturity are even more important in sensitive diplomatic issues,’ Sharma said in an interview with Kantipur, ‘We want to know whether his words represent the government and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) or not?’

While answering a question from Shram Sanskriti Party MP Aren Rai in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Prime Minister Walendra Shah said that efforts are being made to resolve the Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura disputes diplomatically .

But in the process, he said, ‘You may find one thing surprising. I also came to know after becoming Prime Minister recently that India has not only encroached on Nepal’s land, but Nepal has also encroached on India’s land in many places.’

Prime Minister Shah stressed that both countries should conduct a joint study to find out the actual situation of the border. He said that the government's goal is to resolve the problems seen in the border area through discussions as a friendly country.

Prime Minister Shah said that the main opposition parties, Congress and NCP, have demanded an answer on the issue of Nepal encroaching on India's border. Congress and NCP have demanded information from Parliament on where Nepal has encroached on India's land. NCP MP Ramesh Malla said that the Prime Minister's statement from the rostrum of Parliament was objectionable.

Congress Chief Whip Basana Thapa has demanded clarification on Prime Minister Shah's statement. Thapa said, 'There is a Nepal-India border dispute. But the Prime Minister said that Nepal also encroached on Indian land. It is necessary to inform as soon as possible where it was encroached. What is this issue? This is a serious and objectionable issue. If the Prime Minister's statement about the border of the two countries without facts is not correct, I would like to demand that it be removed from the record.'
