The Nepali Congress has stated that it will make the party's role in the federal parliament more effective. The party's parliamentary party meeting held on Thursday discussed the need to further advance the party's role in the parliament and the budget. 

Informing about the decision of the meeting, Congress Chief Whip Basana Thapa said that discussions were held on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year to be presented on Friday and the parliamentary party's working committee. She said, "We mainly discussed the upcoming strategy in parliament and the budget to be presented tomorrow (Friday), as well as some positions were vacant in our parliamentary party's working committee. Discussions were held on the issue of filling them."

She said that the meeting discussed issues such as appointing a coordinator from the party to study the thematic committees of parliament. Chief Whip Thapa also informed that the meeting discussed the issue of the government's address not being made public on Republic Day.
