Manish Koirala has been appointed as the central president of Nepal Tarun Dal, a sister organization of the Nepali Congress.
Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa appointed Koirala from Kathmandu as the president on Sunday in accordance with Article 42 (1) (f) of the party's statute, 2017 (with amendments). President Thapa appointed Koirala as the president as per the decision taken by the Congress's Central Working Committee meeting held on Baisakh 21, informed Acting Chief Secretary of the Congress Central Office Krishna Prasad Dulal.
The post of Tarun Dal president was vacant after the term expired and the working committee was automatically dissolved. The newly appointed president Koirala has been given the main responsibility of concluding the general convention of Tarun Dal within the stipulated time. For this, the party has also provided a clear 9-point mandate and work description.
Tarun Dal, which has been operating on the basis of an ad hoc committee for a long time, now expects the process of the general convention to move forward.
