Ruling party Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) MP Bipin Kumar Acharya has commented that the government's rejection of the opposition's constructive and necessary suggestions is surprising.

Participating in the theoretical discussion on the House of Representatives Rules Drafting Committee Report, 2083 in the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, MP Acharya said that the rules should be made in a way that ends the situation where the opposition has to oppose even good policies and programs brought by the government as a ritual. He also said that the wrong commentary of the ruling party and the opposition rejecting any good proposal of each other in the parliament should end.

'The situation of the ruling party is also surprising. No matter how constructive and necessary the opposition may put forward amendments, they are rejected outright without meaningful discussion on their merits and demerits. An unspoken and wrong commentary has been established here that accepting the opposition's amendments makes the government's document tainted. Now it must be broken,' he said.

He also said that the rules should include a system where both the ruling party and the opposition can take off their party glasses and make decisions based on merit and demerit on issues of lawmaking and people's livelihood. MP Acharya said that the parliament should be moved forward in a way that allows decisions on issues of lawmaking and people's livelihood based on merit and demerit, not on party lines.
