Speaking during the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Monday, Sunsari Constituency No. 3 MP Ashok Chaudhary has demanded an investigation into the Itahari Hospital drug contract case and the controversy that arose in Janata School. Speaking during the special hour, Chaudhary raised two issues related to education administration and public health services and drew the government's attention. He presented the ongoing political interference in the formation of school management committees of community schools and the controversy over the medicine procurement process of Itahari Hospital as serious issues. Chaudhary said that even when the government has abolished the system of nomination to school management committees through an ordinance under the Education Act, 2028, the temporary nominations made in some schools are questionable from a legal and moral point of view. He expressed dissatisfaction with the nomination process made by the education committee in community schools, including Janata Secondary School. He commented that the practice of forming committees on the basis of party affiliation is weakening public trust in the local level when the law has clearly determined the process of committee formation. 'It is a matter of concern that political interests prevail over the law,' he said.

MP Chaudhary has demanded that the government immediately cancel such nominations and issue necessary instructions to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and the concerned bodies to form a committee as per the legal process.

Immediately after raising the issue of the education sector, he introduced another sensitive issue related to Itahari Hospital in the parliament. Referring to a news published in a weekly newspaper, he said that the details made public about the financial transactions related to the drug supply contract of Itahari Hospital are of a serious nature.

According to him, the news mentioned that crores of rupees had been transferred from medical professionals related to the drug supply to the accounts of the mayor, his close associates and associates. He argued that this should not be taken as a normal incident as it is a matter directly related to public health services and the state budget.

Chaudhary has demanded that the government immediately conduct an impartial investigation into the drug procurement process, contract management and related financial transactions of Itahari Hospital and make the truth public.
