The main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, has demanded an answer on the issue of Prime Minister Balendra Shah walking out of the meeting while President Ram Chandra Poudel was addressing a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament.

At the beginning of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, after the Congress lawmakers stood up, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal gave time to the party's Chief Whip, Vasana Thapa, to speak.

Chief Whip Thapa said, 'Prime Minister Shah walking out of the House while the President is addressing is not a normal issue but a serious one. A clear answer is needed from the government on this.'

He also urged to respect the constitutional position and not to weaken parliamentary tradition. President Poudel presented the government's policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/84 in the House on Monday.
