Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Poudel has urged leaders and workers of Bagmati Province to make the digital update campaign of active membership a success.
Addressing a training program organized at the party central office, Sanepa, for district presidents, central members representing the district, and central representatives assigned by the party for the root campaign, he said that digital update is being done to make membership easy and technology-friendly. Stating that once a digital record is made, it will be easier to renew, he urged the leaders to work hard from their respective places. Stating that even though the membership is being updated digitally, the old one will not be canceled, he urged not to get confused about it.
‘It is not the cancellation of the old active membership, it is being updated,’ he said, ‘Let no one get confused about it.’
General Secretary Poudel said that the style of election campaigning has changed and is becoming digital, and digital technology will now be used to circulate the party, get the opinion of the general members and provide information about the party’s activities.
General Secretary Poudel said that digital updates are also necessary to get party views from party members, make them responsible and prepare a roster of members' capabilities.
General Secretary Poudel said that arrangements have been made to go to the ward itself for membership, adding that arrangements have been made to return members to their own neighborhoods and increase their recognition.
‘Every active member has been encouraged to go to the ward itself to connect them to the system and develop a sense of belonging,’ he said, ‘This will also ensure transparency in the details.’
He said that what to do in the case of those who cannot go to the ward for any specific reason will be decided through discussions.
The Congress will send membership forms to all wards through the district president. Arrangements have been made for other active members to be updated through the ward president and for members who have already renewed to be considered valid after the ward president approves and enters.
Although a new form can be filled out since the membership has not been renewed, if it is not updated, it will not be possible to participate in the upcoming general convention process.
