The Supreme Court has ordered the file to be called on the petition for the custodial interrogation of Congress leader and former minister Deepak Kumar Khadka, who is in custody for investigation into money laundering. The bench of Justices Mahesh Kumar Sharma Poudel and Sunil Kumar Pokharel made this order.

The Money Laundering Investigation Department had started an investigation against Khadka after the Gen-G agitation on 23 Bhadra. In the meantime, the police had arrested him for investigation on 15 Chaitra.

‘It was seen from the written reply of the Money Laundering Investigation Department that permission was obtained from the Kathmandu District Court to keep the petitioner in custody for investigation,’ the court order said. ‘What has happened in the case of the petitioner presented so that it can be received by 26 Chaitra by 5 pm. A written reply should be sought from the Kathmandu District Court.’

Similarly, since the file related to the investigation conducted by the department regarding the petitioner is not showing all the documents including the document that allowed him to be detained for the second time, the court has ordered that the additional documents investigated along with it be sent for hearing through the Attorney General's Office.

As per the order of the Supreme Court on 18 Chaitra, the file has not been received from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and has been ordered to be sent for hearing through the Attorney General's Office. The Supreme Court has ordered that the next hearing of the petition on the fourth point will be on 27 Chaitra.
