Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) MP Khusbu Oli has objected to the government's decision to take a foreign loan.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, she also questioned which parliamentary committee, policy debate and need prioritization assessment from the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank led the government to make this decision.
'The government's cabinet meeting has accepted a large concessional loan of US$ 90 million from the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank for the Digital Nepal Transformation Project and US$ 95 million for the Sustainable and Inclusive Finance Project,' Oli said, 'We want to ask the government which parliamentary committee, which policy debate, and need prioritization assessment led to this decision?'
She further asked, 'Our parliament is still in its infancy . Parliamentary committees and subcommittees have not been formed . In such a situation, there is a possibility that such a decision by the government may not be transparent . Did we demand that loan ?'
