Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli has given Thapa the responsibility of the acting chairman, informed central member and MP Ain Mahar. He said that the party Chairman Oli had assigned the responsibility to Vice Chairman Thapa at the joint meeting of the parliamentary party held at the UML central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur on Wednesday.
It was informed in the meeting that Chairman Oli had given Thapa the responsibility of the acting chairman until he was released from custody.
Chairman Oli was arrested last Saturday in connection with the implementation of the recommendations of the commission formed to investigate the Gen-G movement.
