Former Home Minister and Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak, who was arrested from Katunje this morning, has been kept by Nepal Police at Battalion No. 2, Maharajgunj. Family sources have informed that he has been kept in Maharajgunj.

The government had arrested Lekhak from his residence to implement the recommendations made by the commission headed by Gauri Bahadur Karki to investigate the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24.

He has been living in Suryabinayak Municipality-5, Katunje after his private residence was damaged by arson during the Genji movement.

Police have also arrested former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli this morning.

The commission had recommended a criminal investigation into the incident, saying that human losses had been caused by their negligent and careless activities and behavior.
