UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has expressed dissatisfaction with the report led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, formed to investigate the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24. He has said that the Karki Commission report is not impartial.
General Secretary Pokharel said that after the Karki Commission report was made public, it has confirmed his earlier view that it is not impartial. 'The report of the commission itself has confirmed the view that the Karki Commission was not formed for an impartial investigation. It is clear that the Karki Commission and the general election 2082 were an attempt to give political and legal legitimacy to the impact on Nepali society through the algorithm. The election results and the commission report have come accordingly,' Pokharel said.
On Thursday, Pokharel made his opinion public about the Karki Commission report through social media. He further said, 'With the election and the commission report, Nepali politics is moving towards a new direction.' A new force has emerged from the use of algorithms, a mix of populism, anarchism and opportunism. The road ahead may not be easy - it seems that both the nation and democracy will have to face challenges for some time.'
Pokharel also said that the leadership of the next government should be given an opportunity to work. 'In such a situation, giving the 'new force' and 'leadership' an opportunity to work according to their vision and allowing the people to evaluate it through direct experience may be the wisest step,' Pokharel said. 'The truth is - populism, anarchism and opportunism are not the way to solve today's challenges and are not a long-term alternative to ideological politics.'
