The faction of outgoing President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the regular general convention of the Nepali Congress should not be held without a decision on the party's authority case pending in the court.

On the same day that the Central Working Committee elected from the special general convention made the agenda of the regular general convention public, Deuba faction leader Shyam Kumar Ghimire responded that they are not in favor of going to the regular general convention without a decision on the party's authority case pending in the Supreme Court.

Ghimire, who is also an outgoing Congress MP, insisted that whichever side gets the authority after the court's decision, the regular general convention should be held and moved forward. He also said that there is no option for both sides of the Nepali Congress to move forward together.

Leader Ghimire also pressured the Supreme Court to quickly decide on the issue related to the authority of the Nepali Congress. Leader Ghimire also said that there is no option for the Supreme Court to gain the trust of the people by deciding the issue immediately and moving forward.

He also accused the Congress of suffering a humiliating defeat in the election by ignoring Deuba.
