The National Independent Party (NISP) has decided not to vote to elect its parliamentary party leader.
After discussions among the party's top leaders, it has been decided to unanimously elect the party leader with the consent of all the elected MPs of the party, informed General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti.
Preparations are underway to make senior NISP leader Balendra Shah the party leader. The consensus to make him the party leader has been reached within the NISP.
The current statute of the NISP provides for the selection of the party leader through elections.
After the top leaders agreed to unanimously select the party leader, a central committee meeting of the NISP has been called on the 12th to approve it.
