Prime Minister Sushila Karki today thanked the Nepal Communist Party for its role in making the election successful. Leaders including NCP coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Barshaman Pun and others had reached Baluwatar at the Prime Minister's invitation.
They also discussed the recently concluded House of Representatives election and contemporary political issues. Prime Minister Karki said, 'You participated in the election. You created an environment in favor of this election and played a helpful role in helping the country find a peaceful and democratic solution. Thank you very much for this.'
She also congratulated the leaders who won the election. She also wished other leaders the best for the next time. NCP leaders congratulated the country for finding a solution through the election under the leadership of Prime Minister Karki.
Coordinator Prachanda said, 'If this election had not happened, the country would have faced another big disaster. The courage and hard work you have put into this is very important and commendable.’
He also recalled that he and his party have stood in favor of the election from the very beginning. ‘We have stood from the very beginning that there is no alternative to the election. We were the only ones who said that there should be an election without saying anything if but,’ he said.
Similarly, former Prime Minister Nepal said that he felt a great sense of relief the day he heard that Sushila Karki would become the Prime Minister after the movement. ‘I believed that after you came, the constitution would survive, the system would be preserved and the situation would be handled,’ he said.
