Nepali Congress spokesperson Debraj Chalise has called on cadres and leaders to unite and strengthen the organization, saying that the time has come to focus on party building.
Making his views known through social media, he said that the current political situation should be taken as an opportunity for self-examination and reconstruction. He made it clear that one electoral defeat cannot weaken a historic party like the Nepali Congress.
‘Like a tree on a rock, the Nepali Congress is at least standing in this storm. The Nepali Congress will never lose with one defeat,’ Chalise wrote. According to him, the current challenging situation has given the party an opportunity to become more mature and organized.
Chalise said that the role of cadres is important in making the party stronger, and that strengthening the organization is everyone’s responsibility, like moving a tree to fertile soil to grow it. He emphasized that self-examination, organization expansion, and strengthening cadres within the party should be prioritized.
He opined that elections will be held again in the coming days and preparations for that should start now. ‘The elections will come again, we will win stronger,’ he said.
Chalise said that in the current situation, it is natural for the opponents to look for opportunities and attack, and the Congress should focus on strengthening the organization without paying attention to that. ‘It is the job of the opponents to attack by looking at the path,’ he said.
He stated that the Congress is a historical force that led the democratic movement in Nepal and expressed confidence that it will lead the country in the coming days as well. ‘The Congress will rise, win and lead the country again,’ he wrote on social media.
