Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that a special security plan has been implemented keeping in mind the geographical difficulties, remote settlements and challenges seen in past elections. He mentioned that an environment will be ensured where voters in remote areas can vote confidently.

He, who came to Achham on Sunday to monitor the security situation of the elections to be held on Falgun 21, said that the Home Ministry and the Central Security Committee are working without any party-based requests or bias. ‘This is a civilian government, we have not taken any party side,’ he said, ‘Our priority is to hold stronger and more credible elections than before,’

According to him, work is being done in a coordinated manner to make election security effective across the country. Home Minister Aryal said that a security strategy has been taken forward in a creative manner by learning from good practices for political good governance. He also clarified that the security mechanism is currently working by adopting a ‘bottom-up approach.’

Home Minister Aryal informed that special attention has been paid to preventing irregularities in the elections. "Activities like one person voting for another, taking away the rights of voters will not be allowed this time," he said. "Attempts to prevent voters from voting, vote in the name of a dead person, and capture booths will be strictly controlled."

Stating that the government has adopted a policy of ending impunity, he said that security agencies have been put on high alert to conduct the election in a clean and fear-free environment.

A team led by the Home Minister has conducted an on-site inspection to make election security effective in Achham, which is considered a sensitive hilly district of the Sudurpaschim Province. The ministerial-level team, which arrived in Achham via Banke and Bajura, has discussed with security agencies and stakeholders to understand the security preparedness in various areas, including Panchadeval Binayak Municipality. The team has returned to Kathmandu via Dhangadhi.
