Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed confidence that communist unity will lead to a broader unity including UML.

Welcoming former mayor of Kirtipur Municipality Ramesh Maharjan and former ward chairperson of Ward No. 6, who left the CPN (UML) and joined the CPN, into the party at a program organized here on Sunday, Coordinator Dahal expressed the view that cooperation between nationalist forces will send a positive message in the country's politics.

Former mayor Maharjan, who joined the party, pledged to play an active role in ensuring the victory of Rupa Maharjan, the Nepali Communist Party's candidate for the Kirtipur-10 constituency under the star symbol.

The former mayor and former ward chairperson were welcomed by NCP leader Bamdev Gautam and other leaders at the party's central office in Parisdanda and were admitted to the party.
