The NCP's commitment letter states that it will gradually reduce import dependence by building a production-oriented, export-promoting, and self-reliant economy.
The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has made public a commitment letter with the goal of achieving an annual economic growth rate of more than 10 percent within the next five years.
In a program organized at the party office, Parisdanda today, a public commitment letter has been presented with the goal of reducing the multidimensional poverty rate from 20.15 percent to 5 percent during this period.
The commitments are as follows:
- To achieve an economic growth rate of more than 10 percent (double digits) within the next five years through prudent, sustainable and production-oriented use of natural resources, increase in domestic and foreign investment, development and expansion of a production system based on collectivism and cooperation, efficient allocation of resources, significant increase in spending capacity, increase in production and employment, inclusive development and alternative finance mobilization.
- To reduce the current multidimensional poverty rate from 20.15 percent to 5 percent in five years by reducing economic and social inequality through effective mobilization of resources.
- To protect and promote the production sectors including agriculture and industry through a policy of state-protected agriculture and industrialization.
-To gradually reduce import dependence by building a production-oriented, export-promoting and self-reliant economy.
-To increase foreign investment by linking it with production, technology transfer and job creation by increasing the investment capacity of the domestic private sector.
-To achieve solid growth in production and employment in the agriculture, industry, tourism, energy, information technology and service sectors.
-To lay the foundation for a green and digital economy by judiciously utilizing natural resources.
-To prepare a solid foundation for a socialist-oriented economy through a model of balanced and complementary development between the private, cooperative and public sectors.
-To develop each province as a specific economic activity area based on its potential.
-To provide employment to young manpower in the country by productively utilizing public and private wasteland, rivers, forests, minerals and biological resources.
-To make maximum use of the demographic dividend, 150,000 additional jobs will be added annually, ensuring 500,000 jobs annually.
-To create a conducive environment for employment, self-employment and investment by utilizing the knowledge, skills, experience and capital of the human resources abroad, a returnee entrepreneurship program will be launched and at least 100,000 (one hundred thousand) returnees will be made entrepreneurs.
-A program will be launched with the government for the knowledge and skills of the poor: capital and entrepreneurship. A special employment program will be implemented for the poor, backward and marginalized communities.
