The Election Commission has rapidly advanced the voter education program with the aim of informing the general electorate about the election.

The Election Commission is continuously disseminating awareness materials on digital platforms with the aim of making voters aware of their voting rights and training them to cast their votes correctly. The Commission has stated that an education program has been taken forward to provide accurate and real information to voters and reduce the situation of invalid votes.

The Commission has approved and is implementing a special program related to voter education since Magh 19 with the aim of taking the awareness being carried out on the digital platform to the ward level. According to the approved program, one volunteer will be mobilized in each ward of each local level. A method has been decided to select volunteers from among child development facilitators or maternal and child workers or local health volunteers or community study center operators working at the local level to advance the selection process from the concerned election office.

Agreements have also been concluded with government-owned media and regulatory bodies in various sectors for the production and effective mobilization of voter education materials. The Commission has already reached an agreement with the National News Agency (NSA), Public Service Broadcasting Nepal, Gorkhapatra Corporation, Advertisement Board and the media regulatory body Press Council Nepal.

The Commission believes that effective voter education will enhance the ability of voters to identify the voting process, vote signals and false information and will play an important role in ensuring free, fair and credible elections. The election to the House of Representatives has been scheduled for Falgun 21. There is a provision to elect 165 members through the direct election system and 110 through the proportional election system.
