NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he will not participate in the power-sharing process. In a video message on Sunday, Dahal claimed that he is not like other old leaders.

'Today's moment is not just about power for me. It is about the future of this country and especially the dreams of my young friends, the children of Gen-G. Many may think that I and old leaders like me are the same. But I want to make it clear from this public platform today. I am not in the crowd of those old leaders. I never want to participate in the power-sharing agreement that has held the country hostage,' Dahal said.

Dahal has mentioned that he has lost not only family members but also thousands of fellow warriors and fellow travelers. He also says that the feeling of personal sacrifice and struggle is like an open book to him. Dahal says that after losing his children, life partners and fellow warriors, he is no longer greedy for power. 'I am the father who had to lose his eldest daughter Gyanu and young son Prakash before his own eyes. I am the husband whose life partner left him in the middle of the journey,' he said. He also mentioned that the sacrifices of his family and fellow travelers will not be wasted. Dahal also said that the demands of the youth today, such as an end to corruption, transparency, and a strong government, are the same demands and agendas that he has been raising since the days of the People's War. He further said, 'I have been saying for a long time that for political stability and development in this country, there should be a system of directly elected chief executive. We have all seen and experienced how much this parliamentary game and the tug-of-war have pushed the country backward. That is why I say that my demand and your demand are the same.'

During his address, Dahal also mentioned the dialogue of the character Harvey Dent from the Hollywood film 'The Dark Knight' (2008). 'I am a traveler who has been carrying the thoughts of your generation.' There is a famous dialogue in Hollywood, either you die as a hero or live to see yourself become a villain,' Dahal said, referring to the dialogue of the Christopher Nolan-directed film. Stating that he did not want to leave as a villain, he said, 'If I had left long ago, perhaps the country would have remembered me only as a hero, but I do not want to disappear into the pages of history as a villain. I will not rest until I lead this country in the right direction. How you see me today is a matter of your freedom and rights. But in my absence, my presence will be felt only when you experience the changes I have drawn.'

He also said that he is always open to new ideas. 'I welcome the new generation and am ready to assimilate newness. But remember one thing, not everything that sparkles is a diamond. In today's digital age, the illusions of social media can mislead you. Don't let anyone make you feel small,' he said. He appealed to the common citizen for independent thinking.

'Don't stop asking questions. I am ready to answer them. Put more pressure on me, I am ready to face it. Because I know. You are the source of my strength,' he said.
