System cannot be improved by stunts: Chairman Thapa

Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that the right laws should be made to improve the system. During a meeting with party workers in Kathmandu Constituency No. 4 on Saturday, he said that improvements cannot be achieved through stunts.

He said that making financial transactions in public institutions transparent is possible only by creating the right laws and procedures, not by showing stunts and tricks.

President Thapa mentioned that the Congress is a party that believes in reforming through systems and processes.  He claimed to end the division in universities and constitutional bodies.  He said that politicization of civil servants would also be stopped.

‘We all want that there should be no financial transactions in the transactions of our public institutions and bodies.  But for that to come to fruition, it is not by doing magic, doing tricks, carrying a stick, or showing stunts.  A system has to be created.  Proper laws have to be created, processes have to be created.  The Congress believes in creating this system, believes in creating processes,’ he said, ‘We want to give results from here.  We will stop all the things where the party has interfered, whether it is the distribution of shares in the university, whether it is the distribution of shares in the constitutional bodies. Whether it is the politicization of civil servants. We will stop all these things. This is the resolve of the Congress.'

He also said that the Congress is committed to delivering results through reforms and good governance. He also informed that they have made a plan for reforms.
