The Election Commission has intensified its activities to control violations of the code of conduct.
The Election Code of Conduct, 2082 has been implemented to make the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21 free, fair, transparent and credible.
The Commission has been drawing the attention of all stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the Code of Conduct. Based on the complaints and information received by the Central Code of Conduct Approval Committee, 21 clarifications were sought from political parties, candidates and organizations so far. The Commission has stated that only five of them have been responded to and the remaining responses are being sought.

The Commission has stated that the Information Ethics Promotion Unit under the Election Information Communication and Coordination Center established in the Commission is fully functional.
A total of 302 harmful information discovered by the unit has been sent to the relevant bodies for action as per the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063, and the Press Council Act, 2048, informed the Commission's spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.
The Commission has clarified that if there is any activity that raises questions about the dignity and integrity of the election, a complaint can be filed in writing, verbally, and electronically with the Commission, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the Office of the Electoral Officer, the Provincial/District Election Office, and the District Code of Conduct Compliance Officer.
