Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has expressed his commitment to provide necessary assistance for the development and prosperity of the people of Madhesh by solving their problems.

He, who has filed his candidacy from Constituency No. 4 of Sarlahi in the upcoming House of Representatives elections, said that he would always support in solving the existing problems in Madhesh.

President Thapa, who came here on Magh 2 to meet voters, said in a discussion with media persons on Friday before returning to Kathmandu that he returned with affection, support and trust from the people of Sarlahi. During his stay here, he had discussed with local leaders and workers on issues including improving the living standards of the people of Madhesh and strengthening the party organization.

Addressing the election meeting and voters, President Thapa mentioned that he is committed to the development of the entire country including Madhesh. He responded that the support and affection he received from the citizens here have become a source of inspiration for him. 

'The support and affection given by the citizens during my five-day stay here while visiting their homes have become a source of additional energy for me. I have received inspiration to take the lead in planned work for the development and prosperity of Madhesh,' said President Thapa. Stating that the move to Sarlahi was fruitful, he said that he had received the support and cooperation of the local party and the people.

He expressed his commitment to take the initiative to solve the problems seen in the fields of fertilizer and seeds of farmers here, outstanding payments of sugarcane farmers, marketing of agricultural products, education, health, drinking water and others. Party district leader Birendra Singh informed that President Thapa returned to Kathmandu via the airport via Janakpur.
