The Election Commission has asked 5 candidates for clarification. The commission has asked for clarification saying that they violated the election code of conduct.

Those who have been asked for clarification are Balendra Shah (Balen) of Jhapa-5, Mahesh Basnet of Bhaktapur-2, Hark Sampang of Sunsari-1 and Nicholas Bhusal of Rupandehi-2.

Balen has been asked for clarification based on the inappropriate comments made by KP Sharma Oli, a candidate from the same constituency, on social media. Basnet has been asked for clarification on issues such as calling Balen a 'child', Sampang using children in election campaigning and making him wear T-shirts, and Bhusal campaigning for using the iconic shoes of the Genji movement as the election symbol.

Similarly, the Commission has also asked for clarification from Januka Pathak, a candidate from Bhaktapur-2, for making hateful comments about the candidate and using words like murderer and rapist.
