Congress to introduce 'Vision Ten' concept in manifesto

What you should know

The Congress is preparing to bring out a manifesto based on the concept of 'Vision 10'.

At a press conference organized at the Congress central office in Sanepa on Tuesday, spokesperson Devraj Chalise said that the Congress will bring only such plans in the manifesto that can inspire hope and be implemented by the people.

The Congress manifesto is being prepared by giving priority to the areas of development and good governance.

Since the Congress has already announced party president Gagan Thapa as the prime ministerial candidate, Thapa himself is going to prepare the priorities and plans for the work to be done after reaching the government.

‘Within a few days, we will bring a good governance-focused, realistic and credible manifesto among the people, after which the candidates in each constituency will also prepare their manifestos and go to the voters,’ Chalise said. The Congress has also announced to hold double dialogues every two days to advance policy and ideological discussions on various aspects of contemporary politics.

Over a long period of time, the Congress has fielded party candidates in 165 constituencies, and among them, a large number of new faces have been given tickets, Chalise said. He said that the candidates contesting in 166 out of 165 constituencies are new faces.

The Congress has appealed not to misuse the national flag in rallies, public meetings and housewarming programs during the election. Stating that the misuse of national flags in party programs is increasing, the Congress has urged its party to work towards increasing respect for the national flag in any program. ‘There have been scenes of people tying the national flag to their waists and heads while attending party programs. The national flag is associated with the country's identity and pride. It cannot be used for party interests,’ Chalise said, ‘We have already instructed party bodies and committees across the country to maintain its dignity.’
