A portion of a speech given by RSP proportional representation candidate Rima Bishwakarma during her election campaign has been trolled on social media since Monday.
She had reached Syangja for election campaigning during her speech, promising that the people there would win the RSVP candidate with a majority, and that she would bring Ravi and Balendra to the area after the election. “I want to make a promise to you all from this place and at this time. If you make us win with a majority from Syangja constituency no. 1 and 2, I have already promised to bring party president Ravi Lamichhane and Prime Minister Balendra Shah to Syangja,” she had said.
After the clip of what she said was trolled on social media, Rima said that her intention was misinterpreted. Speaking to Kantipur, she said, “What I meant was that leaders always go door to door only during elections, after which power is centralized only at the center. What I meant is that we should rise above that and now, if necessary, before and after the election, we should not all go to the center, but power should come to us. If you listen to the entire speech, that is the whole idea. But at present, a small part has become a troll. But my intention is not wrong.'
Reema, who initially joined the Ujjwal Nepal Party, joined the Ujjwal-RSVP after the merger. After Kulman Ghising separated from the merger 12 days later, Reema remained in the RSVP. She is on the initial list of women for the Dalit cluster of the RSVP proportional representation candidates.
