Complaints have been filed against three candidates listed on the closed list submitted by political parties under the proportional electoral system for the 2082 election to the House of Representatives.

The Election Commission issued a statement on Saturday stating that a complaint has been filed with the Commission against Chandreshwor Mandal of Siraha, whose name is on the closed list number 97 from the Nepal Communist Party (UML), Jeevan Lama of Lalitpur, whose name is on the closed list number 62 from the Nepali Communist Party, and Kumar Bahadur Thapa of Pakhribas-8, Dhankuta, whose name is on the closed list number 37 from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. 

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Election Officer for Proportional Election and Secretary of the Commission, Krishna Bahadur Raut, it is stated that Santosh Kumar Sah of Pipara Rural Municipality-1, Mahottari, has filed a complaint alleging that Mandal is a person from the indigenous community and his name cannot be included in the Madhesi community.

Similarly, Rahar Singh Tamang of Temal-2 Kavrepalanchok has filed a complaint alleging that Lama of Lalitpur is not a disabled person but is mentioned as disabled. The statement filed by Pavitra Shrestha of Pakhribas-5, Dhankuta, states that a complaint has been filed with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority regarding the unauthorized sale of land in the Uttarpani tea garden by Thapa of Dhankuta and is pending consideration. 

The Commission has stated that the concerned parties have been notified to appear before the Commission with their respective evidence between 10 am and 4 pm on Magh 13. It is stated that if the Commission does not appear at the time called, the law will apply.
