More than 92 percent of the polling stations designated in Sarlahi for the upcoming House of Representatives elections are on the sensitive list.

Among them, Sarlahi constituency no. 4, where Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa is the candidate, is also on the sensitive list. This constituency, which was in the news due to multi-party competition and rebel candidates in the 2079 House of Representatives elections, is also at the center of debate and discussion with the arrival of Thapa this time.

In 2079, independent candidate Amresh Kumar Singh won Sarlahi-4. He contested independently after not getting a ticket from the Congress. This time, he has become the candidate from the National Independent Party.

Out of a total of 312 polling stations in the district, 158 are listed as highly sensitive and 131 as sensitive. The District Security Committee has kept only 23 polling stations on the general list. 81 polling stations in constituency no. 4 are on the highly sensitive and sensitive list.

The District Security Committee has classified the constituency based on geographical remoteness, polling stations near the Nepal-India border, clashes between parties in previous elections, and criminal activities. The Chief of the Security Committee and Chief District Officer Ramuraj Kadariya informed that there is a plan to conduct the election in a fear-free environment by placing highly sensitive and sensitive polling stations under security accordingly.

In the previous election, 599 polling stations were set up in 318 polling stations in the district. In this election, 628 polling stations have been set up in 312 polling stations, according to the District Election Office.
