The Election Commission has made the personal details of the candidates public.
The personal details submitted by the candidates along with the nomination papers as per Section 22 (1), Schedule-10 of the Election Guidelines for Members of the House of Representatives, 2082, have been made public as per Sub-section (3) of the same section, informed the Commission's spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.
Stating that it is necessary to make the personal details of the candidates public to make the election process transparent, fair and credible, he said that the Commission has published the details of all the concerned candidates through its official 'website' as per the legal provisions. It is believed that this will make it easier for voters, concerned bodies, media and the general public to obtain necessary information about the candidates.
The personal details of the candidates can be viewed on the Commission's 'website', the Commission has stated.
