Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, who had filed his candidacy from Gorkha Constituency No. 2, has withdrawn his candidacy.

Bhattarai had filed his candidacy from the Progressive Democratic Party (Pralopa) in Gorkha Constituency No. 2.  

Earlier today, the National Independent Party had also urged him to withdraw his candidacy. In Gorkha 2, Prakash Chandra Dawadi from the Nepali Congress, Lekhnath Neupane from the Nepali Congress, the party's General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti from the Nepali Congress, and Milan Gurung (Milan Chakre) from the Nepali Congress are in the fray.
