This is the first meeting to be held in Sanepa after the special general convention elected a new working committee.
The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee meeting is set to announce President Gagan Thapa as the future Prime Minister.
According to party spokesperson Devraj Chalise, a meeting of the central working committee has been called at the party headquarters in Sanepa at 1 pm on Friday. The meeting is expected to announce President Thapa as the future Prime Minister.
After the party announces the future Prime Minister, Thapa is scheduled to go to his constituency Sarlahi-4. President Thapa has registered his candidacy for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21 through Wares. On behalf of Thapa, Provincial Assembly member Birendra Singh along with his supporters reached the office of the Election Officer in Constituency 4 and registered his candidacy.
This is the first meeting to be held in Sanepa after the new central working committee was elected. Due to internal disputes within the party, the newly elected central working committee had been holding meetings outside Sanepa instead of going to Sanepa.
The special general assembly dissolved the working committee led by Sher Bahadur Deuba and elected a new central working committee under the leadership of Thapa on Poush 30.
