Former Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has decided not to contest the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21.

Deuba's Chief Personal Secretary Bhanu Deuba has informed that Sher Bahadur Deuba will not participate in the upcoming elections.

Even though Deuba demanded a ticket from Dadeldhura to contest the elections, the Congress did not give him a ticket. The working committee elected from the special general convention had asked Deuba to play a guardian role by remaining a protector.

The candidacy registration for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21 is scheduled for Tuesday, Magh 6 (today).

Deuba had been continuously contesting and winning elections from Dadeldhura since 2048 BS. He has been elected seven times so far.
