To prepare for the convention, Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal has already called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on Friday. The agenda of the first meeting of the convention is that Chairman Dahal will read out the letter convening the convention from the President and present a condolence motion for Nepali Congress lawmaker Baldev Bohara, who recently passed away.
According to Ekram Giri, spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, all preparations for the convention have been completed. President Ram Chandra Poudel had called the National Assembly convention on Sunday, Magh 4 at 11:00 AM, in accordance with Article 93 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal and the Council of Ministers on Poush 28. The 18th session of the National Assembly ended on Bhadra 31.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has also prepared for the election of 19 members of the National Assembly on Magh 11. The commission has stated that one member of the National Assembly has been elected unopposed.
