Bishwa Prakash Sharma, who was elected as the Vice President of the Nepali Congress through a special general convention, has claimed to the Election Commission that the party's special general convention is a mandatory arrangement and is in accordance with the law.

He has informed the Election Commission about the situation that led to the need to call a special general convention.

He claims that after the party's central committee did not try to address the special general convention demanders, he called them and addressed their demands and that there was nothing illegal in it.

He also informed the commission officials that the action taken by the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Congress against him was not in accordance with the statute. He claimed that they were asked why the special general convention was called and that they had participated without completing the process.

He claimed that the office bearers elected through the special general convention are the official of the Congress. 'The action taken against us is not in accordance with the law. We, the special general convention demanders, did it in accordance with the statute,' he said. 'The argument that the special general convention was canceled after the regular general convention schedule came out is not correct.'

He claimed that the statute is a mandatory condition for moving forward by holding a special general convention in the absence of a regular general convention.

‘We have addressed the issue that had to be addressed within 90 days of the demand for a special general convention,’ he said. ‘We had called for a special general convention in the event that the schedule for the 15th general convention could not be implemented.’
