Central member Deepak Giri said that the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction central working committee meeting held in Sanepa has taken disciplinary action against General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma, and Joint General Secretary Farmullah Mansur, who participated in the special general convention, by not even remaining as ordinary members of the party for five years.

The special general convention has moved forward with the process of selecting new office bearers, including Gagan Thapa as the president and Bishwaprakash Sharma and Pradeep Poudel as the two general secretaries. With this, the Nepali Congress has formally moved towards division.
