Addressing the inaugural session of the party's second special general convention in Kathmandu, General Secretary Sharma said that a new journey cannot be taken in the same old way. He stressed the need to move forward with new thinking and determination. "We have called the special general convention to identify the weaknesses and problems faced by the Congress in the Falgun 21 election and resolve not to let them happen again in the future," he said.
He claimed that significant achievements have been made in education, health and infrastructure development in the country under the leadership of the Congress, even against the backdrop of discontent, instability and conflict. He said that the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 should be viewed separately and it is now necessary to move forward on the path of harmony, good governance and prosperity.
He said that the general convention has been called to honor the class that continues to support the country directly and indirectly but always suffers persecution.
