UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has claimed that Rabi Lamichhane, Balendra Shah, and Kulman Ghising will not win elections for another twenty years.

He made the claim while speaking at a program organized by the Nepal National Ex-Servicemen and Police Organization (NEPON), an affiliate of the party, in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Chairman Oli also said that if there is an election in the country, UML will win. He also objected, saying that he has heard that if UML-Congress wins the election, they will not hold it. Chairman Oli, targeting Balendra Sah, said that no one is in favor of saying that a person who has done nothing has done a great job.

‘If there is an election, we will participate. And we will win the election. I hear that if UML-Congress wins, they will not hold the election. And only if so-and-so wins, they will hold it. That so-and-so, so-and-so is not going to win for at least the next 20 years. What will they do? Not holding the election for 20 years? Now, three people are not going to win the election for 20 years. This is a different matter. What to do?,' he said, 'I repeat - if the election is held, the UML will win the election. What to do now? Or should we not say this? What should we say in the election? Should they say that they will win? The Prime Minister they put forward has done such a great job, he has built the country, he has seen the road, the people they put forward are visible, he has built the bridge. He has built the airport. He has modernized agriculture. He has done this. He has done that. What to say or what to say? '

Chairman Oli had mentioned that threats had started coming to the judiciary and had even questioned the government about how elections could be held in such a situation. He alleged that the government was focusing on other things than holding the election.
