The Election Commission has made public the list of candidate nominations received on Wednesday for the upcoming National Assembly member election to be held on Magh 11.
According to the public list, 44 candidates from various parties have applied for the election to be held for 19 posts in the province, according to a press release issued by the commission's spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. The list will be published after examining the complaints on Poush 24, the list will be published on Poush 25 and 26, the list will be withdrawn on Poush 27, and the election symbols will be given to 28 candidates.
There is a legal provision that members of the provincial assembly, chairmen and vice-chairmen of rural municipalities, and mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities will be voters in the said election. Accordingly, 2,043 initial voters' lists, including 545 members of the provincial assembly, chairmen and vice-chairmen of rural municipalities, and mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities, have been approved. Of those voters, 53 are the votes of members of the provincial assembly and 19 are the votes of chairmen and vice-chairmen of rural municipalities, and mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities.
