General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand has been recommended as the sole candidate from the CPN (Maoist) in Rolpa for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.

The district committee meeting on Wednesday unanimously decided to recommend General Secretary Chand as the candidate from Rolpa, informed the party's district secretary Prithvi Bikram Dangi. 'The district committee meeting held on Wednesday unanimously selected his name. Now he will become the sole candidate,' he said. 

Chand was born in Iribang Kewari village of Rolpa. But after migrating, he currently resides in Kapilvastu district. He led various responsibilities for a long time in the then Maoist armed conflict and did not reach any position of benefit after the peace process. In the meantime, after the party split several times, he is currently leading the CPN (Maoist).
