Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has given necessary instructions to the provincial staff leadership and security officials to make peace and security reliable and strong by collecting, analyzing and evaluating security-related information from the provincial level regarding the assessment of risks related to national security.

On Tuesday, during a discussion held between the Chief Secretaries of all seven provinces, the Secretaries of the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Law of the provinces, and the Chiefs and Representatives of the security agencies on the current security situation, crime control, border security, and the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on Falgun 21 under the chairmanship of Home Minister Aryal and the presence of Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, Minister Aryal gave instructions to the concerned bodies.  

During the discussion, Home Minister Aryal emphasized the effective role that the Chief Secretaries and Secretaries of the provinces should play in raising the morale of the employees and security agencies and conducting the election in a peaceful and fear-free environment by considering the rights, behavior, and our good practices given by the law. 

Stating that it is the need of the hour for all employees to play the role of facilitators, coordinators, and motivators rather than the role of administrators, Minister Aryal said, 'You should understand the administrative authority you have received and the power of your decision-making and strive to make the election successful by playing a coordinating role between the provinces and the federation.'

Stating that security mechanisms should be made more efficient and strong, Home Minister Aryal emphasized on making the society more dynamic and effective by maintaining religious tolerance, social harmony, cooperation and coordination. Similarly, in line with the spirit of the constitution, he emphasized that the issue of security should be kept at the center of federalism based on the principles of cooperation, coordination and coexistence between the three levels, and good practices should be further strengthened by increasing the relationship and contact between the union and the provinces.

In the meeting, Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha emphasized the need to pay attention to identifying security sensitivity, geographical conditions and other issues and reasons in the election and improving past practices and shortcomings if any, and to effectively make security arrangements from the election command post so that positive results can be seen. He also directed to work proactively to conduct the election in a free and fear-free environment by cooperating and coordinating with political parties.

The meeting was attended by Koshi Province Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Poudel, Bagmati Province Chief Secretary Baburam Adhikari, Gandaki Province Chief Secretary Dandu Raj Ghimire, Lumbini Province Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Kapri, Karnali Province Chief Secretary Birendra Kumar Yadav, Sudurpaschim Province Chief Secretary Baikuntha Prasad Aryal, and Madhes Province Acting Chief Secretary Kamal Prasad Bhattarai, heads and representatives of security agencies, and officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
