UML Deputy General Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the unity between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Sah should not be taken otherwise. During an interview with Nepal News Agency, he said that if the agendas are the same, there will be unification and if they are not, there will be separation.

He said that it should not be considered strange that political parties merge and split in the democratic process. He said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Chief Minister Sah have also announced unity targeting the upcoming elections.

He stressed that superiority should be achieved through political competition to make the democratic process transparent and clean, bring the fragmented constitutional process back on track, and advance the sustainable development plan through permanent peace.

This is what Bhattarai said

In democratic practice, it is not considered strange for any person or group to merge with each other and split in different ways when issues do not agree. In the same vein, keeping the upcoming elections in mind, some political figures and forces have announced that they have merged with each other. I do not want to take it otherwise.

The main thing is how to make Nepal's democratic process transparent and clean, how to bring our fragmented constitutional process back into harmony, and how to advance the sustainable development plan through permanent peace in Nepal? This is the most important thing today.

For this, superiority should be achieved through political competition. The CPN-UML is ready to face any challenge. The Gen-G movement, which took place on Bhadra 23, was a movement of our young generation. It was an awakening. That awakening was for good governance, it was to end corruption, it was related to the demand to open social media. These are sacred demands. Holy souls were in that movement with sacred demands.

We should all be aware that those sacred demands and sacred souls are not used for any wrong political purposes and personal interests. The leaders of the Gen-G movement should also be aware of this.

The leaders of the Gen-G movement should also pay attention to whether their movement and agenda were hijacked to bake the bread of political self-interest and to bake the bread of personal interests.
