Balen ranked second in the RSVP

What you should know

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) is set to remain in the second position of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. A 7-point agreement was reached between Rashtriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane and Ballen on Sunday morning. According to the agreement, the party, election symbol and flag will remain with the Rashtriya Swatantra Party.

Earlier, Balen had put forward issues such as including 50 percent of his party's leaders in the RSP. Lamichhane, on the other hand, has now taken a stand that good people should be included rather than just a percentage.

After that, Ravi and Balen agreed to include the youth and people with clean image who participated in the Gen-G movement in the party. Shishir Khanal, who participated in the talks between the RSP and Balen, said that it was agreed that Balen would be the second priority of the party.

Even if Balen does not ask for any post now, he will be the second priority in the party. 'The party structure is to include new, Gen-G and other youth. Additional structures will be formed. Balen has not taken the post. He has said that he will only be a member of the central committee. That is his loyalty,' Khanal told Kantipur, 'The party must give such a leader a respected position. He will be in second place.'

Balen has been mentioned in the agreement to nominate the prime ministerial candidate in the upcoming House of Representatives elections and declare him the party's leader in the upcoming parliamentary party. Khanal says that it is natural for Balen to be in the party's second place. In the past, Swarnim Wagle had also joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a central member after leaving the Congress. Currently, President Ravi Lamichhane, Vice President DP Aryal and Swarnim Wagle are in the top positions in the RSSSP respectively.

There has also been an agreement to include representatives from Balen's party and Gen-G in the RSSSP organization. Khanal said that there was an agreement to bring in good people rather than a certain percentage. 'There has been an agreement to bring in new people but to give place to people who are better than a certain percentage.' "There has been an agreement to focus on quality rather than percentage," Khanal said.

Both the vice-presidents of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were present when the 7-point agreement was signed between Ravi and Balen. Apart from that, Asim Shah was also present. On behalf of Balen, Kumar Ben, Bhupdev Shah, Sudip Dhakal, KP Khanal, Nischal Basnet and others were present.

Along with the agreement with Balen, the RSS has also agreed to add new people to the central committee and go to the Election Commission to update the details.
