The Congress has demanded the convening of a National Assembly session. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Congress's National Assembly parliamentary party on Thursday, informed Chief Whip Krishna Bahadur Rokaya.

The meeting chaired by parliamentary party leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula decided to demand an immediate National Assembly session from the Speaker of the House as there is no House of Representatives. 

Whip Rokaya said that the party has demanded an immediate National Assembly session as there is only the National Assembly, the sovereign parliament that can raise the voice of the people. 

The meeting expressed grief over the demise of Constituent Assembly member Ganesh Bahadur Khadka,  former central member Dhundiraj Shastri, former Baglung district president Govinda Prasad Sharma Kandel, Constituent Assembly member Ram Ayodhya Prasad Yadav, former minister Achyutraj Regmi, former Minister of State for Health Khadga Bahadur Basyal, former central members Hrishikesh Gautam and Mohammad Aftab Alam, former National Assembly member Krishna Kumari Shrestha and former minister Amod Prasad Upadhyay.
