Declaration of functional unity between Jaspa Nepal and Swadhin Madhesh Public Campaign

What you should know

A working unity has been announced between the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal and the Independent Madhesh People's Campaign. Both parties have agreed to jointly run struggle programs through working unity for the time being and to unite in the future as needed.

At a program organized at the JSP Nepal Party Central Office in Balkumari on Monday, both parties announced a joint action plan and agreed to jointly advance the struggle. JSP Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav and People's Campaign Coordinator Kailash Mahato signed the declaration at the program.

In the action plan, both parties have expressed their commitment to jointly struggle for the establishment of a fully proportional electoral system. They have also agreed to struggle in favor of a party-free electoral system to establish the local level as the main basis for development.

The declaration states that the Constitution of Nepal is incomplete, flawed, flawed and discriminatory, and that the struggle will continue for its amendment, revision and, if necessary, rewriting. It has also been agreed to make joint efforts to establish the concept of a state-nation that encompasses diverse castes, ethnicities, languages, religions, cultures and communities with different identities.

The declaration states that the federal governance system established by the Madhesh people's uprising will be further strengthened, the province will be empowered, and the rights, identity and respect of Madhesi, Dalit, women, indigenous people, Khas, Muslim minorities and backward classes will be continuously fought for. It also states a commitment to jointly fight to ensure proportional inclusive representation on the basis of ethnic and community population at all levels and bodies of the state.
