Nepali Congress leader and former minister Pradeep Poudel has said that the party should hold its 15th general convention and participate in the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21 with new leadership.
In an interaction with media persons this morning, he emphasized the need to make the party dynamic by introducing new leadership from the general convention, policies in line with the spirit of the Genji movement, and the party in the election. The Congress has decided to hold the 15th general convention in Kathmandu from December 11 to December 15.
He said that holding the election on the scheduled date was the spirit and desire of the Genji movement, and mentioned that the priority of the Congress was not the restoration of the parliament, but the election itself. He also demanded that the government create the necessary environment to hold the election in a fair, free and rigged-free environment.
He said, “The schedule of the general convention is not practical, there may be some ups and downs, but the general convention must be held before the general election.” Stating that he did not succeed in competing for the post of general secretary in the 14th general convention of the party, he said that he will compete for the post of general secretary in the 15th general convention as well.
