Nepali Communist Party (NCP) leader Rajendra Pandey has suggested to the government not to take action against those who deceive the younger generation.

In a meeting of representatives of political parties, the Election Commission, security agencies and civil society convened by Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Monday, NCP leader Pandey has urged the government not to bring various law amendment ordinances at the eve of the election and deceive people.

Pandey urged the government not to bring election-related ordinances when there are only 73 days left for the election scheduled for Falgun 21. 'The ordinances and laws being brought now are not enough to prepare for the election. Don't do things that are not enough to prepare,' Pandey said, 'You are bringing an ordinance that will allow Nepalis living abroad to participate in the election. Let's not do such things. Let's not deceive the young generation.'

Pandey said that the government is taking some steps to gain popularity in public, but it seems that it will not work for the election. 'If you do things that are hyped up from all sides, you will only get hype, it will not work,' he said.  He also said that the young generation should be brought into politics and made to play a role in nation building.

Pandey said that the government should not have the idea that elections will be held even if no party participates. 'If no party participates in the elections, there will be no elections,' he said, 'We should not talk about elections and ask key leaders to stay home in Kathmandu? To impose seat limits? To impose seat limits. Let the government focus on the elections. If you and I do not focus on the elections, there will be no elections.'

Pandey also said that the expressions of ministers should be controlled. He said that the expressions of ministers will disrupt the atmosphere of the elections. 'Your words have disrupted the atmosphere of the elections. Shut your mouth, do not talk too much. The nation has given you a historic responsibility, hold the elections. Hold the elections in a clean, fair, and fearless atmosphere. Otherwise, do not be a minister,' Pandey said.

Pandey also demanded that the meeting be informed about how many weapons looted during the Gen-G protests were returned and how much work the Home Ministry has done to bring back prisoners who escaped from prison.
