The Election Commission of Nepal has designated polling stations and polling centers for the upcoming National Assembly member elections to be held on Magh 11.
The commission has determined polling stations for all seven provinces on Wednesday, informed Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.
He said, 'The commission has determined the locations of polling stations in the districts that are the capitals of all seven provinces, and arrangements have been made to have two polling stations each in the designated polling stations.' In which, there is an arrangement for voting by the electoral college consisting of members of the provincial assembly, chairperson and vice-chairperson of rural municipalities, and mayor and deputy mayor of municipalities, while polling station 'A' has been designated for members of the provincial assembly and polling station 'B' has been designated for chairperson and vice-chairperson of rural municipalities, and mayor and deputy mayor of municipalities.
In a statement issued by the commission on Wednesday, it was said, 'The provincial polling stations have been designated at the Provincial Election Office premises of Koshi Province, Biratnagar, Morang; the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Cultural Center of Madhesh Province, Janakpur Sub-metropolitan City Ward 4, Dhanusha; the Bhutan Devi Secondary School of Bagmati Province, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-4, Makawanpur; the Provincial Election Office premises of Gandaki Province, Pokhara, Kaski.'
Similarly, the commission has designated the Lumbini Province Employee Meeting Center, Ghorahi, Dang; the Provincial Election Office premises of Karnali Province, Birendranagar, Surkhet; and the Provincial Election Office premises of Sudurpaschim Province, Dhangadhi, Kailali.
