Four pro-identity political parties have united on Wednesday. The merger took place in Birtamod, Jhapa, between the Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal, Nepal Janamukti Party (Ekta Pakshadhar), Kochila Sangharsh Samiti and the Federal Limbuwan Party. After the merger, the party has been named 'Rasty Mukti Party Nepal'.
The leadership of all four parties has signed a memorandum of understanding with the announcement of the party unification. Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato from Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal, party leader Sanjuhang Pangluwa from Nepal Janmukti Party (Ekta Pakshadhar), party coordinator Tri Narayan Rajbanshi from Kochila Sangharsh Samiti and chairman Mitra Lingden from Federal Limbuwan Party Nepal have signed a three-point memorandum of understanding.
Responsibilities have been divided with the party unification. Rajendra Mahato is the party chairman, senior leader Sanjuhang Pangluwa, Tri Narayan Rajbanshi and Mitra Lingden are the vice-chairmen.
The current central committee and position responsibilities will be established in the unified party on the basis of consensus, it was stated in the unification announcement program. Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal Chairman Rajendra Mahato said that the party unification was carried out after in-depth discussions and deliberations between the four parties and an agreement was reached on three points.
'We have united to fulfill the change and aspirations sought by the people,' he said, 'The impetus for change in the country is in pain, we have united to free the country from that pain and bring the change the people want.'
Stating that the party will participate in the upcoming House of Representatives elections on Falgun 21, he mentioned that the election will be used to fulfill the goal of change.
Chairman Mahato says that he will now go to the people to gather the people's strength for a revolution with ideas and alternatives.
Senior leader of the newly formed party, Sanjuhang Pangluwa, said that all those who support identity should unite and work to build power to establish the issue of identity and change. He mentioned that the party was unified to move forward with new thinking.
Party Vice-Chairman Mitra Lingden mentioned that they stood in favor of change by unifying the party because the country wanted a new change after the Genji movement.
